Did rock and roll start in the south? rockabilly and blues?

Blues music has it's roots in the south. As it migrated north and spread, rock and roll evolved out of it. (The term "rock" is an old blues expression)

Rockabilly got its name from "Hillbilly Rock", kind of an attempt at the time to broaden country music's limited audience.Did rock and roll start in the south? rockabilly and blues?

Yeah man, heard of Big Mama Thornton? Rock'n'roll has those influences, as well as gospel. To say the truth, black people started the music with the work "rocking." Points for them.

Some of the first Rock and Roll stars got their start in Country Music. I'm not sure if it STARTED in the South, but it was certainly influenced there.
