How do I ditch my other iTunes library so I can start a new one on my new computer?

I just downloaded iTunes on my new computer and I pressed sinc and it asked me if I wanted to erase all the songs or transfer purchases but about 80 percent of the songs on my iPod are from cds, not from being bought on iTunes so that's a fail. It also said my iPod can ony have one iTunes library at a time. How do i ditch my old one?|||Hello, as long as your songs are still on your iPod, you can get them onto your new computer and iTunes easily.

The most convenient and secure way is to use an iPod-to-computer transfer program to help you, like this handy one called Tansee iPod Transfer

Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer. The whole process goes as follows:

Firstly install this program on your computer. When you plug your iPod to the computer, this program will instantly display all songs and videos on the iPod.You simply select what you wish to transfer and click "Copy" button. Done. All your selected files will be copied to your computer safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your iTunes library. See detailed guide.

More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song names are preserved.

Here is step-by-step guide on the whole process:

Best luck!

You can also search more other ways at http://ask.com|||You can keep two iTunes accounts on two different computers under the same account name. You can have up to 5 authorized computers for one account. With that said, you can only sync your iPod to one library at a time. You can have completely different play lists on different computers, but whichever computer you sync to, that's the music that will end up on your iPod. If you want to keep certain music on your iPod but sync it with a different library you'll have to transfer the music from the iPod to the new library so that you can sync them.

If you're looking to load all new music onto your iPod just sync it with the music on the new computer's library.

Also, did you actually pick the option to transfer your purchased music from the iPod to the computer? Not sure if it picks out only bought music or not but you can always try it. By doing that, it won't delete the music from your iPod, it just puts the music into the new library.

If you can connect both computers to the internet at the same time, there's an option on iTunes to copy the library on one computer onto the next computer. You have to activate 'Home Sharing' on both but it works without deleting music on either computer.

Hope this helps!|||I heard this iPod to Computer/iTunes/iPod transfer works pretty good on this.

In order to change your ipod to another iTunes you will need to transfer your music from computer to computer and then reformat your ipod.
