Why do you think the Moody Blues have been ignored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

They are not inductees, nor is there much mention of them in the Hall.|||while the rock and roll hall of fame has inducted some truly noteworthy artists over the years, i'll have to agree that not inducting the moodys has been a most egregious oversight. truly great masterpieces have come from messrs. hayward, lodge, pinder, thomas and edge. their period between 1967 and 1971 saw the release of no fewer than four unbelievably gorgeous lps, beginning, of course, with "days of future passed".


as for my own opinion as to why they haven't been nominated, i feel at times the hall of fame seems to miss the mark as to why they're in existence in the first place. that is to recognise and affirm greatness within the rock and roll genre. some of their decisions have baffled me.|||I don't know much about the internal politics, but I don't think they were a great band. They were popular for a hit single or two, their albums were briefly popular in the late 1960s, when I bought them, and that's about it. I don't know the official criteria for induction, but I like seeing inductees who made great music that lasted, that stood out, and, ideally, that influenced others.





I think they are one of those bands who belong in the hall of fame just as much as many inductees, but that there may not have been enough people clamoring for their induction.|||Their albums have elements of classical music in them, and the RNRHOF frowns upon such things.

I mean it! Those guys refuse to put any artists in the Hall of Fame that take influence from classical music.


...Well, besides Genesis, but they were inducted for Invisible ******' Touch, anyway.

Where is there a better museum you ask? That's missing the point. You yourself can have a more comprehensive knowledge of rock music, simply by learning about it on your own. You don't need an official museum.|||- political or

EDIT: is it like the hollywood stars? they pay some money to someone then they get "reconised"? - i dont know but that could explain it?|||Their early work is very good but The Moody Blues don't really have any staying power nor have they built a great legacy pretty much 2 prerequisites for the HOF.|||Well it took Pink Floyd until 1996 to be inducted but their music wasn't 'classified' rock, rather 'alternative', so go figure!|||The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke.... who cares?
